Black Girl
The poem "What it's like to be a black girl (for those of you who Aren't) of Patricia Smith is a poem about the life of a nine year old black girl who is describing how is her life, "First of all, it's being nine year old and feeling you' not finished..." . By reading the poem you learn that she fills miserable and not completed "it's like there's something, everything, wrong. it's dropping food coloring in your eye to make them blue and suffering...". This is because she is being abused sexually by a men" it's sweat and Vaseline and bullets, it's growing tall wearing a lot of white" . The poem is about a nine year old ho fills miserable because she is being sexually abuse by a man, we can see in the last cited sentence tha the men uses Vaseline and a condom to penetrate the girl. "it's life according to motown", this represent the style of life that is sing in the soul music .
